Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire

Its a massive shame that this race is discountinued. Although it was a bit of a faff having split transitions it was a good honest course and excellent for newcomers to 70.3 race distance.

The swim was well organised in a lake about 30 mins drive from Stafford with a drive/jump start from a pontoon.

The bike was rolling with a few kickers to catch a few people out.

The run was tough with a slow uphill to the castle and a short but very steep climb to the castle, after that it was a great downhill before you repeated it for a second time.

The finish line wasnt the best as tucked into a side street and the after area was probably the smallest I've seen but the support on the run course was fantastic.
